Castle “After Hours”
Wow, what an unexpectedly great episode of Castle. The show continues to solidify why it was wise to put the detective and the writer together.

Warning: spoilers for Leverage season 5 premiere
1. Parker and Haridson tell the team they’re dating.
In season 4, Hardison and Parker were dating but it wasn’t as if you could tell they were dating. That’s why when the lovebirds revealed to the team they were in a relationship, it was a brief but awesome moment. Let me reiterate for the hundredth time: Parker and Hardison are a freakin’ great couple. So glad they outed themselves. Loved those flashbacks of their vacation even more. Hardison totally let Parker call the shots, didn’t he? Rappelling down numerous buildings was right up his girlfriend’s alley. And Hardison went along for the ride. Although, you’d think by the third time (Istanbul, Turkey), he would have gotten the hang of it.

That’s the way to go out. Chuck went off the air with a wonderful send-off that was emotional, uplifting and heartbreaking at the same time. It really was some of Zachary Levi’s best work ever. He shattered my heart a few times over as Chuck had to face life with a Sarah Walker that didn’t remember much of anything about the last five years. But it was through this memory loss that we got back in touch with the Chuck that we’ve grown to love over the years. There were so many nods to the beginning of the series. It was nice to reflect on the show’s past even while wondering what the future was going to hold for Sarah and Chuck. I choose to think they’re going to work their way back to each other.

In addition to the 25th of December being a national holiday - and many would argue the birth of Christ (although not Bones’ Dr. Temperance Brennan), a magical and wonderful thing happens on this day and the few surrounding it: television marathons galore. As any diehard Joss Whedon or Nathan Fillion fan should know, Science is marathoning Firefly starting at 6am PT / 9am PT on Christmas. Even if you’re not a fangirl or guy, you might want to know what’s happened to some of your favorite characters since the show went off the air in 2003. Let’s hit the highlights.

There was so much to love about “Chuck Versus the Hack-Off.” It’s probably my favorite Season 5 episode so far:
After a couple weeks off, Chuck is all new tonight at 8/7c on NBC. 5 Reasons to watch “Chuck Versus the Hack Off”:

“Chuck Versus the Business Trip” is my favorite Chuck of the final season so far because: 1) It showcased everyone in the cast; and 2) The intersect was removed from Morgan. I love the goofy guy but I must confess I didn’t love the storyline of him having ownership of the intersect. I was happy he could do things he’d never been able to do before but I didn’t like how it affected him. I know that ultimately, it was a trojan virus that caused Morgan to act like a pompous jerk, but it was still way too much in-your-face Morgan for me. So, yes, I’m ecstatic he’s no longer keeper of the intersect. My two Moments of Goodness, however, come from the end of the episode.
This past week featured three great guest stars on two very unique shows: ABC’s Revenge and NBC’s Chuck.

First, over on Wednesday night’s Revenge actresses Alicia Coppola, CCH Pounder, and Margarita Levieva appeared as the following: a reporter from the Times interviewing the Graysons on their 25th wedding anniversary, the warden at the juvenile detention center where Amanda spent her youth, and the real Emily Thorne who swapped her identity with Amanda.
Last week, there were some interesting double headers on some of my favorite shows, starting with actress Bridget Regan and actor Jordan Belfi appearing on the latest episode of NCIS: Los Angeles. Jordan played a big-time software company owner who is kidnapped while Bridget is the kidnapped guy’s girlfriend (despite the fact he is married with a son).

Viewers of the syndicated series Legend of the Seeker recognized Bridget as series regular Kahlan Amnell; but she also appeared in the short-lived series The Black Donnellys as well as episodes of Sex and the City, New Amsterdam, Law & Order: Criminal Intent and the recent indie film The Best and the Brightest with Neil Patrick Harris and Bonnie Somerville.
It seemed that a number of my favorite shows featured some interesting guest stars over the course of this past week with all but one being a talented actress.

Over on Breakout Kings on May 15, actress Paula Garces appeared as a kidnap victim of a mentally unstable escaped convict who was being hunted down by the team. Paula is probably best known to sci-fi fans as the town veterinarian on Warehouse 13, dating Eddie McClintock’s Pete Latimer, but she has also appeared in the short-lived space drama Defying Gravity and the police drama The Shield. She has also had guest appearances in The Good Wife, CSI: Miami, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and Guiding Light. Her movie roles include Clockstoppers and the Harold and Kumar films.
