Juliette in Mourning, Nashville “I’ll Never Get Out of This World Alive”

This was an exciting season finale, in more ways than one. A lot happened but I want to focus on Juliette in this episode. I’ve never made a secret of how much I love Hayden Panettiere in this role. There are moments when her spoiled, self-righteous behavior gets on my nerves. But there are also times when her willingness to love and learn make me want to understand her and give her as many more chances as she needs to become a better person. In “I’ll Never Get Out of This World Alive,” we see some of the people Juliette’s mistreated along the way come back into her life and offer what she needs the most - their love. Her ex-manager Glenn shows up when we least expect it. Deacon tries to be there for Juliette, although she pushes him away at first. Avery is there when she needs a friend (he’s making strides, but he’s still not fully redeemed. I’m not sure he ever can be for me). Even Rayna is there for Juliette.

Grimm Season 2 Finale “Goodnight, Sweet Grimm”

Poor Nick. I had a feeling he’d be the one in the most danger at the end of the Grimm season two finale. And he was.

But before we get to the cliff-hanger, let’s talk about the entire episode, the highly entertaining “Goodnight, Sweet Grimm.” I felt like the hour zoomed by as Nick and the cops had to deal with the victims of Baron Samedi aka the “Cracher-Mortel.”

Where We Left Off:

  • Will charmed his way into an audition and impressed both Rayna and Bucky. It looks like he’s going to be the second act signed to Rayna’s new label.
  • Scarlett had a wonderful debut at the Grand Ole Opry, but Gunnar was in jail. Avery showed up to support her though.
  • Lamar showed some fighting spirit and demonstrated that he’s still in charge at work.
  • Rayna asked Teddy to keeping trusting that she wouldn’t harm Teddy’s relationship with Maddie.
  • Before she overdosed Jolene killed Dante to help Juliette keep her private life private.
  • Maddy found some papers and confessed to a friend that she doesn’t think her dad is her father.

Rectify “Jacob’s Ladder”

I’ve always loved Daniel’s friendship with Johnny Ray Gill’s Kerwin. It has somehow been reassuring to know that Daniel had at least one true friend during part of his time on Death Row. With the cherry-bomb incident at the beginning of the episode, I think we all knew something horrible was coming. Watching those masked man beat Daniel at Hanna’s grave was pretty awful, but for me the most affecting scene in “Jacob’s Ladder” was having to watch Daniel say goodbye to his friend.

3 Moments of Goodness from Arrow Season 1 Finale “Sacrifice”

[WARNING: Major Spoilers for Arrow Season 1 Finale]

The season 1 finale of Arrow was amazing. Incredible. Action-filled. And emotionally-exhausting. There are so many good performances and moments that I hardly know where to start. That being said, if you’re reading this article that probably means that you’ve SEEN “Sacrifice” for yourself and know exactly what I’m talking about so instead of recapping the whole episode, let’s focus on my top 3 Moments of Goodness.

TV Goodness Reports: Scandal Special Event @ The TV Academy

[WARNING: Major spoilers for Scandal season two finale]

Sometimes you get to do fun things when you work in television.  On Thursday night, I had the great fortune of going to one of the best industry events I have ever been to.  The cast of ABC’s Scandal, led by Kerry Washington, did a live table read of the season finale, “White Hat’s Back On.”  I had mixed emotions but I am so glad that I got to see it.  If you did not watch the episode yet, stop reading and go watch it!  Yes, you!  Okay now that you watched it, let’s discuss.

5 Moments of Goodness from The Big Bang Theory Finale “The Bon Voyage Reaction”

The Bon Voyage Reaction

The Big Bang Theory finale was built up over the last couple days with rumors of a big cliffhanger.  When the credits rolled, I wondered if I’d been confused and this wasn’t the finale, because I didn’t see any big cliffhangers.  Realistically, The Big Bang Theory has not been the type of show to leave fans hanging at the end of a season, so this week’s episode was consistent.  Here are my top five moments of goodness.

3 Moments of Goodness from Nikita “Til Death Do Us Part”

image

Photo Credit: Ben Mark Holzberg/The CW

I really thought Nikita was done being a loner. I’m pretty upset that she won’t let her loved ones help her and even more upset that she left her ring behind. Nikita always thinks she knows best, but in this case she doesn’t. She needs this group of people to help her get through this and clear her name.

But my biggest question coming out of the season 3 finale is: Why does Amanda and the group want everyone to think the President has been assassinated? With a (grainy) picture of Nikita out there and the largest manhunt in history under way to bring her in, Nikita is far from safe. She was surrounded by the little family she’s built for herself and they all wanted to help her. Even though she’s left them, I know they’ll still do everything they can to expose the truth. But that’s next season. For now, I want to focus on three great moments from “Til Death Do Us Part.”
